RNLI    Visit Website
The RNLI is a charity that provides a 24-hour lifesaving service around the UK and Republic of Ireland and a seasonal lifeguard service on over 60 beaches in the south west of England. Our volunteer crews give up their time and comfort to carry out rescues in difficult and often dangerous conditions. Last year the lifeboats launched over 8,300 times and lifeguards assisted over 10,300 people. As a charity we rely on voluntary donations and legacies for our income.

Samaritans
Charity no. 219432
  Visit Website
Samaritans provides 24 hour confidential emotional support to anyone experiencing distress, despair, or suicidal feelings. When most other services close down and there's nowhere else to turn, Samaritans is always there. Samaritans responds to nearly 5 million contacts each year to help people going through a particularly difficult time in their lives to find the strength to carry on.
People call Samaritans for a variety of reasons such as bullying, loneliness, isolation, relationship problems, financial worries, exam stress or illness. Not all people who contact Samaritans are suicidal or have active suicidal thoughts. Samaritans are there for all people who are concerned or upset or angry and just want to talk to somebody to offload everything they could not say to parents and friends.
We proactively target people who are at an above average risk from depression, despair and suicide such as young people, the homeless, the elderly, people in prison or on remand and people who live in rural areas.
