Action for Children helps nearly 156,000 children, young people and their families through nearly 420 projects across the UK. We also promote social justice by lobbying and campaigning for change.

• Action Medical Research

  

  Action Medical Research, for children, for life - the leading UK-wide medical research charity dedicated to helping babies and children. We know that medical research can save and change children’s lives. We want to make a difference by treating sick and vulnerable babies, helping disabled children and targeting rare diseases in children.

• After Adoption

  

  We place children, who are currently in the care system, in stable families and we work with adopted children and adults, adoptive families and birth relatives. Our purpose is to improve the lives of the one in four people in the UK who have an adoption connection.

• Barnardo's

  

  Barnardo's vision is that the lives of all children and young people should be free from poverty, abuse and discrimination. We believe in the abused, the vulnerable, the forgotten and the neglected. We will support them, stand up for them and bring out the best in each and every child.

• Bliss

  

  Bliss, the special care baby charity, provides vital support and care to premature and sick babies across the UK. We offer guidance and information at a critical time in families' lives. We also fund ground-breaking research and campaign for babies to receive the best possible level of care regardless of when and where they are born.

• The Child Bereavement Charity

  

  The Child Bereavement Charity is the UK’s leading charity that supports families and educates professionals both when a child dies and when a child is bereaved. Every year the charity trains around 5000 professionals across health care, social care, education, the emergency services and the voluntary sector. It also provides a national support and information service, award-winning resources, an interactive website with online forums, and Buckinghamshire-based family bereavement support.

  Our Vision is that when a child dies or is bereaved, all grieving children, young people and families have access to quality support and information relevant to their individual needs from appropriately trained professionals.

• The Children's Society

  

  The Children's Society is a leading national charity, driven by the belief that every child deserves a good childhood. We provide vital help and understanding for those forgotten children who face the greatest danger, discrimination or disadvantage in their daily lives; children who are unable to find the support they need anywhere else.

• Clic Sargent

  

  Every day 10 families are told that their child has cancer. Diagnosis often comes as a shock. Treatment usually starts straightaway and can last up to three years. As the children’s cancer charity, CLIC Sargent is there… with clinical, practical and emotional support, every step of the way.

• The Elizabeth Foundation

  

  The Elizabeth Foundation is a voluntary organisation for deaf babies, pre-school deaf children from 0-5 years, and their parents. The Elizabeth Foundation provide - nationwide and often without charge - parent centered services for babies and young children with a hearing loss and offers their families.

• Get Connected

  

  Get Connected's vision is that every young person in the UK can find the help they need to support their emotional and physical well-being. We provide a free and confidential national helpline that gives young people in difficult situations the support and information they need to decide what they want to happen next - it could be anything from getting information / advice / counseling to finding somewhere safe to stay for the night.

• The Laura Crane Trust

  

  Cancer is the most common form of non-accidental death in teenagers and young adults in the UK. The Laura Crane Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to funding research specifically into cancers affecting 13-24 year-olds, where cancer can strike in dangerous and difficult forms, often necessitating very harsh regimes of treatment in an effort to save their lives.

Our vision is a world where blind and partially sighted children have an equal opportunity to the provision of education, which is adequately supported with sources of information provided in a suitable format for their needs, and where there are no barriers to sports and recreational activities

• Northern Ireland Charities Together (NICT)

  

  Northern Ireland Charities Together (NICT) is a unique consortium of charities all providing services for people in Northern Ireland. Our aim is to make it easy for people of Northern Ireland to support our six charities through tax efficient payroll giving.

• NSPCC

  

  The NSPCC's purpose is to end cruelty to children. Our vision is of a society where all children are loved, valued and able to fulfil their potential. We run a wide range of services for both children and adults, including national helplines and local projects. The Child’s Voice Appeal aims to transform ChildLine and the NSPCC Helpline to ensure we are there for all children.

  Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity is a registered charity that exists to support and enhance the services of Sheffield Children's NHS Trust and it's reputation as a centre of excellence for the research, prevention, care and cure of childhood illnesses.

• Tommy's

  

  Tommy's exists to save babies' lives as sadly, one in four women will lose a baby during pregnancy or birth. We fund pioneering medical research into the causes and prevention of miscarriage, premature birth and stillbirth, and provide a free information service that educates all parents-to-be about health in pregnancy. Through our work, we aim to halve the number of babies that die during pregnancy or birth by 2030.

  UNICEF is the world’s leading organisation focusing on children and child rights, with a presence in more than 190 countries and territories. We work with local communities, partners and governments to ensure every child’s rights to survive and thrive are upheld.

• Whirlow Hall Farm Trust

  

  Whirlow Hall Farm Trust was founded in 1979 as an educational trust working with inner city children and young people with special needs or disabilities. Since that date, over 250,000 children have visited Whirlow on a daily or residential basis.

• Yorkshire Charities Group

  

  Yorkshire Charities Group is a joint venture between six Yorkshire based registered charities. There can be few people in Yorkshire whose lives are not touched by at least one of these worthy causes.
